St Patrick of Ireland is the Patron Saint of Ireland. St Patrick was born in Kilpatrick in Scotland in 387 to Christian parents, his father was a deacon in the church. He was captured at the age of 16 during a raid and brought to Ireland as a slave to tend and herd sheep. It was in Ireland that St Patrick began to pray and have a true faith in God. When St Patrick was 22 he had a vision from God telling him to prepare to leave Ireland. St Patrick then escaped and walked 200 miles to board a ship that would take him to England. In a dream he had during this time he saw the people of Ireland calling out to him saying, "We beg you, holy youth, that you shall come, and shall walk again among us!"
St Patrick at this time obtained clerical training and was ordained by St Germanus. He would then eventually become Bishop in the year 430, where he would then return to Ireland. In his remaining years in Ireland, he would spread the gospel throughout Ireland and helped establish many churches and monasteries! He would go on to repose on March 17th, 461 in Downpatrick, Ireland.

Note on wood products - All wood warps, that is something you have to remember with these icons. Warping over time will occur but it wont affect the icon. We use Feed-N-Wax for all of our icons which is our wood sealant and we recommend touching up the icons with this product as needed. If you get water spots from having the icon blessed the easiest way to get rid of them is to apply the Feed-N-Wax product mentioned above to the areas with the water spots and they should go away.
Note that the icon you will receive will vary slightly from picture shown.
All of our icons are made to order, sculpted by Lydia Riley and made in Montana.
