Pantocrator - 6 x 8 (Maple)

Christ Pantocrator is perhaps the most widely known icon and recognized Orthodox icon we have in the church. This icon is one of the first images of Christ that was developed in the early church and remains to this day a central icon in the Orthodox Church.

The Pantocrator icon that is most known and still surviving was written in the 6th century and survived the iconoclasm. The icon now resides in Sinai at St Catherines Monastery. Most notable on the icon are the two different faces of Christ. Half of his face portraying grace and the other half portraying judgement.

This 6 x 8 icon of Pantocrator in maple is the perfect medium sized icon to have on your desk or on your icon wall!

Note on wood products - All wood warps, that is something you have to remember with these icons. Warping over time will occur but it wont affect the icon. We use Feed-N-Wax for all of our icons which is our wood sealant and we recommend touching up the icons with this product as needed. If you get water spots from having the icon blessed the easiest way to get rid of them is to apply the Feed-N-Wax product mentioned above to the areas with the water spots and they should go away.
